Concise description:
This short lesson, designed for employers, managers, supervisors and front-line employees, teaches about mental health at work. It describes the impact of mental illness, the difference between mental illness and stress, and the major factors that put people at risk. Furthermore, it aims to recognize mental illness at work and to identify possible routes for the promotion of mental well-being.
The lesson is to be followed on-line free of charge and consists of mainly expositive material. It takes about half an hour. The lesson is really meant to raise awareness. Incidentally, links to some further reading are given. Also some sources to underpin data and statements are given, however, mostly incomplete.

This short lesson presents examples of the broad area of workplace violence, and the possible sources: which persons can be involved. In addition, the situations (physical and situational) of increased risk are shortly mentioned. Links for Canada are presented for learning about the employer’s obligations to prevent workplace violence.
The lesson is to be followed on-line free of charge and consists of ready-to-use material. The text however can also be downloaded. The material is appropriate for any worker or manager. No download or registering is necessary. The lesson takes less than about half an hour.

Concise description:
This set of lessons consists of a total of 21 lessons on injuries and violence. For injuries, such general topics as general principles, measuring and surveillance, and epidemiological analyses are dealt with. Besides, specific lessons are presented on road traffic injuries, drowning, falling and burning, child poisoning and injuries at the workplace. The lessons on violence comprise of violence against children, suicide, sexual violence, and violence committed by young persons. In addition, some lessons on care and rehabilitation are presented.
All lessons can be followed on-line or downloaded in any order. The material is appropriate students, who have basic knowledge in epidemiology. Many terms used are explained in a glossary. Each lesson includes some self-assessments, including the answers. The material is also suitable for teachers who want to combine any number of lessons to make a customized learning program. A guideline for the latter group, however, is lacking.
The course consists of ready-to-use material, that can be used on-line, or downloaded free of charge, printed and displayed. Logging in as a guest or after having registered is necessary. The lessons are available in two languages: English and Spanish.
