Concise description:
A short and interactive lesson for the primary health care to help recognize and diagnose asthma and its occupational origin, and to make aware of steps that need to follow after diagnosis. Further, it is taught what to advice patients at the time of diagnosis and throughout the course of illness, and where to find additional information. The lesson is presented in English and, for the legal part, refers to the situation in the United Kingdom specifically. It is necessary to register first before the lesson can be approached.
The lesson consists mainly of multiple choice questions around specific cases and short explanatory texts. Feedback on the answers is provided. A pre- and post-test is examined. A certificate is provided (and can be printed) if the final score is at least 70%. The lesson can be followed and displayed on-line only.
The material is meant for doctors and other healthcare professionals, as a help in their continuing education. It is well suited to be used for the education for medical students.
Apart from this free lesson that is offered by the provider, the website also offers a large amount of other free lessons and lessons not for free. Most of them are not related to occupational health.
